Price Kong & Co., C.P.A.s, P.A. is in search of an experienced Controller to join the team of one of its high-profile subcontractor clients. The Controller will develop accounting policies and procedures and oversee all company financial operations. Other responsibilities include monitoring the company’s financial status, reviewing department expenses, ensuring tax compliance, and managing accounting transactions. To be successful in this role, candidate must have in-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with risk management. Ultimately, the Controller is charged with ensuring the company complies with accounting regulations while maximizing profits and mitigating risks. The position reports directly to the Owner.


  • Document, monitor and update accounting policies
  • Ensure all payments are accurate and completed on time (including accounts payable and bank deposits)
  • Review quarterly and annual budgets for all departments
  • Analyze costs and profits
  • Set and track financial KPIs
  • Build risk assessment models to evaluate investments
  • Report on financial status on a regular basis and create ad-hoc reports when needed
  • Managing work in progress (WIP) and contract schedules
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems
  • Perform internal audits and assist with external audits


  • Minimum of two years’ work experience as a Controller or similar role
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and legislation
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Proficient computer and typing skills
  • Experience with cash management and risk assessment
  • Good knowledge of QuickBooks Enterprise accounting software
  • Exceptional organization, analytical, problem solving, and communications skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines


  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Accounting or Finance
